Hey,

My current setup is the following:

Sony 52inch W series (120hz)
Sony HVR V1u
Some 8yr old Bose Stereo System (forgot name)

I want to but an Home Theater System. Budget is around 300.

Ive looked at the following:

Code:
bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8286115&type=product&id=1171672409922
Code:
bhphotovideo.com/c/product/602470-REG/Sony_DAVHDX587WC_DAV_HDX587WC_5_1_Channel_BRAVIA_Theater.html
Code:
thespeakercompany.com/PLCR161-HT8-P102C36.aspx
Code:
bhphotovideo.com/c/product/610018-REG/Panasonic_SC_PT770_SC_PT770_HOME_THEATER_SYSTEM.html
Add "w w w ." (w.o. spaces of course) to the links ;)

Which of the Above is best?

I want the best audio quality, many speakers have bad bass, which I dont like.

I am also open to other suggestions.

Thank You in advance for you kind help.

the Sony HTiB has the advantage of a remote that will work with your HDTV and it upconverts the DVD output. Not great, but a decent entry level HTiB system that will get you started.

The Panasonic does not upconvert (from what I can tell from the very limited data on the net)

the speakers from "The Speaker Company" are the best speakers of the group, but you would need to add an audio/video receiver (AVR) to the price to actually control the speakers and amplify the sound and a DVD player if you don't already have one.

For $300 I would look at the used market. Thats not enough $ to get you a decent HT setup.

I think you need to up your budget a bit. You're just going to be chasing your tail with compromises if you're trying to get a DVD + Receiver + speakers (5.1) at $300.

Not really sure as I have never owned them. I will say that Energy speakers have been very well received. The good thing about the TSC package, if you don't like them just send them back for a FULL refund. As such, you are ONLY out a bit of your time auditioning speakers for YOUR ht. What more could you ask for? Given your circumstances, I would opt for the TSC package first and go from there. Chances are, you will probably keep them. Good luck in your decision. ;):);)

Cheers,

Phil
