I need some suggestions on TVs... Here is what I am looking for.

52-58" (I might be able to squeeze a 60" if the bezel is thin enough) Full HDTV.

NO Rear Projection, already have one, looking to replace it.

Primary functions for the TV will be PS3 games and Blu-Ray, with a few regular DVD's every once in a while.

Would prefer a unit with a matte screen, but not a must at all.

Price range is between $1000-1400.

Looking for best picture quality, I do not care about 3D at all right now.

Thanks guys, looking forward to your suggestions!

Second a Plasma, best image quality and best for fluid gaming as well (my Samsung has .001 second refresh rate.)

I picked up the LG 60PV450 for $899 at Frys, so far very satisfied, will need to try to find some of the more advanced settings to adjust the blacks, but so far, extremely pleased. Also very happy that they make it easy to adjust the colors and settings on this TV!

Good luck with the LG. While I generally think they look okay, I have zero trust in their reliabilty. I hope you have better luck than others I hear from about them.

Yeah, I have found mixed reviews, quite a few people saying they 'knew' someone who had issues with the LG plasmas... but very few actual people who have the units seem to be posting about any issues with it... atleast no more than with any other manufacturer... The sales guy at Frys tried to hard sell me on the extended 2 year warranty through Frys with fear tactics... basically guaranteeing me that the unit was going to break in less than two years... Nice way to sell a product buddy...

Well anyway, it is above and beyond the unit it replaced, and at very worst, it was down right cheap for a 60" screen...

Now if only I could find other people's ISF calibration settings...

Screens really need to be calibrated for the room, but I normally use the calibration disc. It's good enough for my four-eyes and no one else watching it cares. I thought nearly all Plasmas came from the same factories these days so I'm pretty sure you get the same level of reliability from them all.
