Have never heard of them before. The website looks iffy at best.

Premier-Acoustic is a new company. It got mixed reviews when i was doing research a year or so ago. From what I read, buyers were happy with their purchase. But if you are looking at these, I rather go with BICs Acoustech or Venturi or the SVS at around $1K or the current sale at av123.com if there are any speakers left.

Matt34 Moderator Feb 25, 2008 #24 If I were in your situation I'd also look at the new X-statik from AV123.com. They are expanding their X-series line and this is one of the newest offerings. This way you have a great set of speakers to start with and can add your sub, center etc. as funds come available. http://av123.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=176&category_id=21&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37

jinjuku Moderator Feb 25, 2008 #25 One of the standby's are the BIC's for the seriously budget constrained. Check out the DV62CLR-S for ~ $100 And DV62si for ~ $110/pair So center + two pair would be $320, add a sub for ~ $270. So for around $600 you can get a, decent for the money spent, 5.1

B bilgirami Junior Audioholic Feb 25, 2008 #26 Jinjuku, thanks very much. You status on the website (Senior Audioholic) is making me put a lot of faith and value in your suggestion. I might actualy end up going for this combination. It gives me a decent 5.1 within my price range. Could you double check the link for sub please. The website it takes me to has a list price of $499, not $270. Thanks a bunch in advance.

That is just the MSRP, you can find them for that price and cheaper on ebay from authorized dealers. I got mine from sound_distributors for $245 shipped.

Click to expand... You are most likely talking about the Acoustech series from BIC. $799 is about the going rate. Google for the Venturi listed prior and you will see the pricing. Check out Amazon and Craigslist / Ebay also.

B bilgirami Junior Audioholic Feb 26, 2008 #31 Jinjuku, you are right, it is BIC acoustech. Out of the two, which one is a better brand, BIC acoustech or BIC america?

As far as which one is better, Venturi or Acoustech, I would know. I would say that they are different, not 'better'. Different is a fact, better is subjective. I have the DV 62CLR-S and it is a heck of a speaker for $100.
