I posted this in another section had no replies so I thought I would try here.
I am about to do a much needed update on my system and need some advice on the AVR. The system will primarily be used for watching movies and TV, along with a little music, mostly movies and tv though. My current system is an Onkyo 605, Klipsch rb51 II mains, rc-10 center , an mtx 250watt 12" sub and some cheapy polks for surround. I figure for the speaker portion of the upgrade, move the rb51's to the surround position and purchase a pair of either the rf62 II or rf 82 II for the mains.
Now on to the AVR. Originally I was looking at an updated Onkyo, such as the 636 or better. Then after seeing all the posts around here about Accessories for less, I contacted them for their recommendations. So, with the input I have received so far combined with the reading. I have it narrowed down a little
Integra 60.5 from A4L.com
Denon x3100 or 4100
Marantz 5009,6009
I am open to suggestions on other models and brands, I need all the help I can get. With so many options out there and no place to actually go and demo one of these with speakers I have or will have it is just overwhelming. Some things to add, as far as features, multi zone is a need, atmos while it appears to be pretty cool, I really have no desire to utilize it. I refuse to use apple products so no need for airplay. I do think wi-fi and bluetooth would be a nice to have rather than a need to have. Have a fairly large room where this will be, one of those big open floor plans where the kitchen, breakfast nook and living room are one big open rectangle. 10-12 foot ceilings and all ceramic tile.
