I have a customer that has a Audioaccess whole house system that was installed when the home was built around 2009. The system has around 15 zones. He would like to add a bluetooth receiver so they can listen to music from there phones. the home is 7,000 sq feet. I looked at a few bluetooth receivers on Crutchfield and was wondering if anyone here has used them. the AudioAccess does have aux inputs that are not being used at this time.

It depends on usage, but Bluetooth is a range limited design that is not appropriate for whole house audio use. You can't wander a home and jump from one Bluetooth to another seamlessly without losing your audio from the phone.

It is better to use a wi-fi enabled audio service. Sonos is one example. Airplay is another. Then the phone connects through the whole-house wi-fi and directly to the device to play audio. Sonos has a ton of other streaming apps built into it which makes it a very nice service for music playback throughout a home. You can get one or two of them for his/hers usage.
