You have to understand also that these guys also build subs for a living, so what you consider to be bass and what they consider to be bass may be two different things. :D How much do you really want/need? IMO, some people's idea of bass is their own personal eyeball massage. So you have to ask yourself: do you want skull crushing bass, or merely rattle drywall bass? "Well do ya', punk?" In a concrete basement, I still say you'll want more output than the PB-10, because I've read of a user with a large basement install with a PB-10 and he complained about lack of output. He was looking for more output, so he wanted more sub than he got, but he also didn't do enough research nor contact SVS when buying the PB-10.

Not to throw a curve ball into the mix, but if you can fit a 19" square 88lb. box in your HT room, you may want to check this out. The price includes shipping.

You'll need to know how to assemble a sub. I'm not sure if SVS has tested this unit, but if they have, they can tell you how it compares to their models. Interestingly, both companies are located in Ohio.

another vote for the titanic

I'm with buckeye on this.

I have the 10" and it's build quality is impeccable. Putting it together is a piece of cake, you need to buy some spray on glue and that's about it. It's not particularly beautiful, just a black sub, but then neither are most of the SVS subs.

P.S. The 15" may be too much sub (i know, blasphemy). The 12" is probably a better idea and might be more musical. Two 12" subs would be musical as well as ridiculous.

wow thanks guys. So much info from you. I think Im going to take Toms advice and get the 25-31PCi. Now I need to get a 40' sub cable that is shielded well because my electrical work is wirhgt on top of the suspended ceiligns and I dont want any interference. What can you recommend? Also what are all those connectors on the back of the sub that look like speaker connections?

.....MaxSE, the red and black speaker-wire posts, both in, and out, on the back of the SVS sub you are going to get, are for someone who has a regular stereo receiver with no signal sub-out....using the speaker-wire posts and speaker-wire, you go from the receiver to the sub, then on to the two speakers, with internals of the SVS sub automatically cutting the signal at 80 hz for the sub, and sending 80-up to the two speakers....now, if that ain't slicker than owl snot, what is?.....

.....I hear you on needing a 40 foot rca cable to your sub with rca's on both ends....here is a link a guy sent me one time for a three-way rca 50 foot cable....he said it was very good quality at a very good price....I have yet to have the need for it, but I could have saved it just for youse....you will need to find their version of a single one-way, and maybe they have a 40 foot, I don't know....I would cut-the-chase and just call them....their tech support number is 800-800-8300.....

.....edit.....MaxSE, I just called them and they don't have a single cable you would want....I suggest now what BMXTRIX suggested in another thread of finding, building, or having built, a 40 foot coax cable, which would actually be better for long runs anyway.....sorry, I tried......

awesome mulester thanks so much. Guess Ill only be using the RCA subwoofer jack. Im reading up on making my own cables now, as that seems like a cheap and good alternative.

.....great, MaxSE....coax is so much better for long runs....thick single piece of metal in the middle, thick coating of rubber/plastic, and the negative wiring is a sheath around the far outside-just-inside, that resembles what skindivers wear as flexible sharkproof armor material....great shielding from interference....yep, you should build one to your length needed, using coax....done and done......

Hey, I need some blue jeans. My 36's are tight. Need to lay off the beer and hit the ab machine.

Maxse, I think you'll be thrilled with that SVS sub. Lots of bang for the buck with a small footprint. Let us know how it works out.

If you decide not to build a cable, you can put two of these together with a female coupler.

You can just use a 50' shielded RG6 coax (CATV cable). If terminated, you can use F to RCA adapters or if not terminated, you can buy RCA connectors that crimp onto RG6.

What about the 20-39? Would that be a good option as well?
