Need help with wiring up my devices

I just bought an Onkyo SR606 and am in the process of re-wiring everything. Basically I plan on mounting my tv here within the next couple days so prior to doing that, i'd like to know what cables I should have running off the tv itself.

I have:
Samsung 58b560 Plasma
Xbox 360
DirecTV HD DVR
Blu-Ray player

So what I'm wondering is what will I be hooking up to the tv directly and what should be going into my 606?

Since HDMI is available on all the devices will there be a need for an optical cable anywhere and if so, what will its purpose be.

3 RG6
1 Optical
1 VGA

relocate power up to the bracket.

Ok so the 2 Cat 5/6 I understand

2 HDMI - obviously one will be connected to the tv. Where will the other end be going into from the tv. Will I be hooking that up to the HD DVR receiver or the 606?

The optical will go from what, the tv into the 606?

What is the VGA for and shouldn't I be using hdmi for all the devices?

future needs,while the wall is open. I normaly run 6 rg6, vga is optional.
