Thanks for all the amazing information you all have put out there for those of us in need of an audio education! I am trying to put together my first attempt at a HT for my living room and, like I have heard so often, the wife is limiting me to in wall speakers (or maybe on wall). The HT will be used for both music and television (blue ray, sports and regular programming). Wife always complains she can't hear dialogue from the speakers in the TV, which is what inspired the HT to begin with. Unfortunately I will not be able to buy the entire system at once and my budget is somewhat limited. I already have an Onkyo SR608 as my receiver and want to start off with my front speakers (L/C/R). I will have to save a little to buy a sub and then my rears. I would appreciate any advice on the front three, as I am lost
Here are the stats: The room is 23' x17' and 22' tall. The couch is 17' from the front wall. As for a budget, I am limited to around $400 for the L/R pair and another $400 for the center channel. Is this even possible?
