Updates:
My wife, such a good sport, insisted we take that VTF-2 MK3 out and try it.
Just no way to make it work in this room. It's so cramped in here, means I will have trouble pulling a chair from a desk, or crawling over the sub to get in bed, just not practical. I'm going to have to go with a cylinder sub most likely.
But, oh, I did give it a listen and what a sweet sound. Someday I'll have a real living room and a place to put one.
I will say, I was also disappointed to see it a little marked up right out of the box, despite our being careful. I'm not sure if those were just marks that can be cleaned off, or scratches. I am also glad I knew to turn the volume down before testing, was on max.
We're going to go with an SVS cylinder probably, due to the size issues in the room.
