Hello,

I wanted to start out by saying Hello as I am new to the forum. I've been a stereo enthusiast for a while and recently decided to upgrade to a home theatre set up as me and the gf have been watching more and more movies/tv shows together.

I currently own the following:

Front - Kef IQ70
Crossover Frequencies 2.5kHz
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m) 90dB
Maximum Output 111dB
Amplifier Requirements 15-150W
Magnetic Shielding Yes
Impedance 8 Ohms
Frequency Range 36Hz - 40kHz

Receiver - Pioneer VSX-820-K
Power Per Channel - Surround 80W RMS @ 0.08%, 110W Peak @ 0.05%

Over time I would like to purchase more speakers to fill out the system but I am unsure of what speakers to buy. Do I have to stick with Kef speakers for the center and rear speakers? This isn't a bad thing because I love my front speakers.

The first speaker I would like to add is a center speaker. I have been looking at the Kef Q600 (about $600 retail here in Canada)

Cabinet Finish (Speakers): Cherry
Multi-Driver System: 3-way
Powered: Yes (Active)
Suggested Amplifier Power: 10 – 150 Watts
Nominal Impedance (Headphones): 8 ohms
Frequency Response (Speakers): 45 Hz – 40 kHz
Maximum Continuous Power Handling: 150 Watts
Maximum Peak Power Handling (Speakers): 150 Watts
Sensitivity (Speakers): 87 dB
Manufacturer's Parts Warranty: 1 Year Limited
Manufacturer's Labour Warranty: 1 Year Limited

or ordering the Kef IQ60c online for about $400 (accessories4less.com).

Model iQ60c
Design Three-way bass reflex
Drive Units 2 x 130mm (5.25in.) LF, 130mm (5.25in.) Uni-Q, 19mm (0.75in.) aluminum dome HF
Crossover Frequencies 280Hz, 2.8kHz
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m) 90dB
Maximum Output 111dB
Input Impedance 8 Ohms
Amplifier Requirements 15-150W
Magnetic Shielding Yes
Frequency Range 65Hz - 40KHz

Any opinions on the differences between the two?

Another question I have is what kind of speaker I should buy for the two rear speakers.

I am thinking of purchasing Kef IQ10s

Model iQ10
Design Two-way bass reflex
Drive Units 130mm (5.25in.) Uni-Q, 19mm (0.75in.) aluminium dome HF
Crossover Frequencies 2.5kHz
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m) 88dB
Maximum Output 108dB
Input Impedance 8 Ohms
Amplifier Requirements 10-100W
Magnetic Shielding Yes
Frequency Range 50Hz - 40KHz
Weight 4.5kg (9.9lbs)
Dimensions (H x W x D) 301 x 175 x 261 mm (11.8 x 6.9 x 10.3 in.)

but am wondering if it would be worthwhile to upgrade that to the Kef IQ30s

Model iQ30
Design Two-way bass reflex
Drive Units 165mm (6.5in.) Uni-Q, 19mm (0.75in.) aluminum dome HF
Crossover Frequencies 2.5kHz
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m) 89dB
Maximum Output 110dB
Input Impedance 8 Ohms
Amplifier Requirements 15-120W
Magnetic Shielding Yes
Frequency Range 45Hz - 40KHz
Weight 6.45kg (14.2lbs)
Dimensions (H x W x D) 365 x 220 x 327 mm (14.4 x 8.7 x 12.9 in.)

(or would this just be overkill for rear speakers?)

I live in an apartment but have a sizeable living room (enough to fit a three seat couch, love seat, and large arm chair). I can get measurements if necessary.

Any input is appreciated and sorry for the long post but I wanted to get all the info in one place.

Thanks
