A JBL Sythesis system will support HDMI. I am certain Lexicon would as well. I don't think a HDMI switcher will be important to you since it looks like you are only intending for one display.

@shadyj I think u got me wrong . I know that jbl synthesis and lexicon supports HDMI but wanted to ask about ver 1.4a. Did a bit of research and found out that they do not have support for ver 1.4a which is used to display content in 3D. Since i am going all out on audio might as well get the latest tech for video as well.

I think if i will be having dedicated hardware for things like room correction and video processing (no compromise on quality)and amplification. Then i might as well go for some 1500-3000$ receiver that will give me the connections i am looking for like hdmi 1.4a and a few eye candy features like ipod connection and internet radio. Everyone do tell me what do u think about this decision

I will be having multiple sources and single output.

This is for all people. Thank you for all the help i got from you guys. I am nearing my search for equipment and will be posting my most likely config in 2-3 days. However you are welcome to suggest anything else that comes to your mind.

Thanks everyone once again i couldn't have done it without you
:D

Yes, in that case you might want to go with an HDMI switcher, to preserve HDMI1.4a functionality. I wouldn't sacrifice anything on the audio side for 1.4a though, since 1.4a doesn't effect audio quality in the slightest.

Doubts regarding projector

I have few doubts.

With a viewing distance or around 15-20 feet Will i experience the difference between 4k(4096x2160) and full HD(1920x1080) resolutions? Screen will be say 180 inch diagonal

I've heard that the brightness reduces when you are watching a movie in 3D. Is this true ? If so should i go for the extra lumens and sacrifice on lamp life

Can you recommend some awesome 3D projectors with the max resolution possible

Do i need a special screen for displaying 3D

I was wondering if you could use some of the $7-million to send the butler or chauffeur out to buy a camera?
You know....so you can take a picture of the room. ;)

On second thought, I think he should get into his $1 million Bugatti Veyron and drive to Wal-Mart to buy a digital camera to take some pictures of his room.

This forum overall is more audio oriented than video oriented. You might have better luck finding an answer in the projectors and screens subforum. Also check out some of the message boards at AVSforum.com.

Personally I don't see the point in going 4k at this time. There is almost no content out for it, and none likely released for that resolution for a long time. I can't help you with your questions about 3d, all I can say is that going after 3d on a 180" screen, you are going to need a damned powerful projector, and probably a highly reflective screen. You will also want superb light control if you want any decent contrast and rich darks in those conditions at all.

Seriously, I have no life.
Someone please help me resolve these issues
You may want to start here:
http://s3.carltonbale.com/distance_chart.html

A video resolution chart.
Even if you find a 4k projector, where will you find video with that resolution? Chopping up a 1080 pixel to smaller units will not help, you still have the 1080 pixel info.

For a screen that size, you need a very powerful projector to get enough foot-Lamberts on the screen. Theater standard is 16 f-L even though not many ever get it or project it.

The 20k thread at AVS, when it comes back up, is a place to search for high res projectors for that size, including 3D. It won't be cheap.

Finally decided on equipment

projector- christie mirage hd 6k-m (i think 6000 lumens ought to be enough)

screen- stewart filmscreen (not decided on the details but want arnd 175in to 180in diagonal screen)

speakers 7, TAD reference one speakers (although loved jbl dd66000 also but TADs scored more on treble and am a treble junkie). and 4 funkywaves 18.0 subs with amplifier

preamp/receiver yamaha rx A3000

room correction TCS mk III theater correction system

video processor- Radiance XE 3d mini (because of hdmi 1.4a support)

Don't forget a pair of SVS Audyssey units to integrate two pairs of subs with each other.

preamp/receiver yamaha rx A3000
If using outbound amplifiers, I would get a Denon 4311 or A100 personally. It has two discrete sub outputs to integrate the two SVS Audyssey units above in time/phase/amplitude.

room correction TCS mk III theater correction system
Experiment with various room correction, and no room correction at all. You never know what might sound best. You might find the tact hurts the sound more than it helps. If you`re starting with a custom designed room, you`re probably best off not needing any room correction outside of in the bass frequencies.

amplifier- Lexicon 300w x7 ch amplifier (avoids too much clutter and keeps simplicity according to me)i think its named z7 or something
This?

I'm 99.99999% sure it is just this amplifier:

Rebadged with a silver lexicon chassis.

That equipment list looks very good. Four Funkywaves 18.0s! That will be an incredibly high quality bass system. Make sure you select the TC sounds LMS5400 Ultra drivers when you talk to Nathan.

As for the Yamaha, it will make a very nice preprocessor, but its a shame much of what you are paying for in that unit will be wasted, since it has such a robust amplifier section. You should check if Yamaha has a pre-pro only version of that AVR. Or, when you hook up your speakers, compare the Yamaha to whatever amp you end up with- you may find that you won't need the external amplifier at all if it sounds exactly the same. Quite honestly, it shouldn't sound any different, the only difference there should be is a 300 watt per channel amp will get about 3 db louder, which isn't much. It might be heretical to get such nice speakers and power them with a Yamaha AVR, but in theory there won't be any difference aside from a slight amount of output headroom.

As for the Lexican vs ATI brand, get the ATI amp, that was a good catch by Granteed.

For the PC, the list looks very good. For all-out performance disregarding price totally, I would skip the WD disk drives and get a couple of these, but that would make the PC hilariously expensive, but also insanely fast. Like I said before though, I wouldn't try to use the PC as the source for blu-ray playback. I tried it, I didn't like the inconvenience, and also I was never able to get the picture to look as good as my blu-ray player did. One thing which will help you a lot is a all-region blu-ray player, so you can playback hollywood movies just as easily as Indian movies. In order to do that with a PC, you have to have a hack with the major blu-ray playback software that I know about (Cyberlink and Arcsoft).

Why not just get like 7, or since you the have money just get a 13.1 receiver, 13 Wilson Alexandria X2s?

That wouldn't even put a dent in his $7 mil budget and those are considered to be some of the nicest speakers right?

yup you win i will add another oppo bdp 95 to my list of sources but will go with a blu ray drive for pc also cause i believe with the improvements in technology the game releases might be on blu ray so just to be safe. another thing you mentioned about harddisks is that those will go into the pci-e slots where i will be placing my sound card and graphics cards.so thats not an option for me. and unfortunately yamaha does not have any pre pro
