Rear or side? Generally a 5.1 system has side surrounds and a 7.1 hand side and rear surrounds. If you're listening to 5.1 sound then I'd buy Klipsch Reference series for sure. You just have to decide if you want bipolar speakers with a more diffuse sound, or monopoles (conventional speakers) with a more detailed sound. Movies are a tiny bit less fussy about brand matching but it's still a good idea.

JBL 8340 8340a (newer model) or lower model 8320s are GREAT theater speakers

I'd say you want the same brand in front and the same brand for side/rears BUT they don't need to be the say front/surround but being that you have klipsch that might change. Klipsch has a unique sound. JBL might go with them but IMO JBL sound better (at least that my preference of jbl 8340s's to any klipsch I have heard) but then again I have never matched front/surrounds and never see any difference.

Go to crutchfield.com and look at the Klipsch ceiling speakers.
I would try to do Klipsch with Klipsch for now.
