Hi all, how can i hook up my karaoke mixer to the Yamaha V3800, where i can use the mixer to karaoke with all sources of players (DVD, Laser Disc, Computer and more. The mixer has
Audio In Left & right
Audio Out Left & Right
Tape/Rec In Left & Right
Tape/Rec Out Left & Right

My source now is the computer where I connected the audio to the Audio In and using the Audio Out to the V3800 to the DVD selector. Thanks all.

If my memory serves me right, I think you hook the Tape Out from the Karaoke to the Tape IN of the Recevier. Then you hook the Tape Out of the Receiver to the Tape In of the Karaoke. You might have to press the Tape Loop button on both the Karaoke and Receiver. I think.:D

thanks Acudeftech and Para, yeah i just cant remember how this got done. I believe this should be same when you have an EQ set up and use it for all. And what do u mean by buy new speakers? LOL, I currently own the Soavo, my Mixer is Nikkodo or something like that. This thing is about 10 years old and still kicking. Karaoke was never this good since i own this new system man. Thanks anyway...

You didn't say whether or not the mixer is powered. If it is not powered you can probably use either output. The tape output would be safe in either case so Acu's advice certainly won't get you into any trouble.

The real issue is the impedance match. If the mixer is not powered, try both and see if one produces better (quieter) results.

I am not saying anything bad about your speakers (heck, I don't even know what speakers you have) I have heard that Karaoke set-ups can wreck regular speakers.

I mean if the OP were the ONLY one singing, I wouldn't worry. The problem is the OTHER people who may be killing the speakers with their LOUD & DYNAMIC singing voices.:D

Personally, I would never take a chance on singing or let anyone sing through my speakers. After all, I do have extremely high quality speakers.:D:eek::D:):p

I think I would get a $53 AudioSource amp and some Behringer B2031P Passive Studio Monitors and use that for a Karaoke system...

...or get some DTs!
