Hello boys and girls,I got my self klipsch quintet with the idea of doing home theater surround in my place, but after started reading I am having trouble of how exactly to do the layout as my living room is non ideal rectangular/square
Here are the pictures and my thoughts of how I am thinking of doing it which is most likely very wrong but I am open to ideas here.Red marks present the speakers

AS i said its klipsch quintet and i am thinking or running them of HK avr 161s no subwoofer atm, currently on just bose solo

Any reasonable:rolleyes: advice is welcome
Thank you very much

I voted no.

Any chance you can move the TV to where the couch is? Then the L and R will go where you have the red circles in the second attached file. If you move the dining table 90° and then flip the couch to be on the other side of the arch way.

In that room you will be much better off with 2.0 or 2.1.

You are not alone in this. Most domestic spaces are not really suitable for surround sound formats.
Unless you are very lucky, then spaces need to be custom built for multi channel. There are thousands upon thousands of rooms that have it, that should not.

TLS if i got with 2.0 or 2.1 how would you lay it out,and another thing that comes in question is if i should even buy 5.1 receiver to have it in case i need it god knows when or just buy 2.1

agarwalro-no changes will be ever made to what stands where because thats the optimal for living needs and tv is not really prio if you know what i mean, not to mention there are no oulets there and etc....

When you add an audio system to a current room you pretty much always have to make adjustments. If you can't change that room, put it in another room.

That didnt really answer my question i know it would be a trial error type of deal but,can you mark 2.1 setup on the picture of how would you do it, as you seem very knowledgeable guy from what i see at your place
and the other thing about the receiver 5.1 for future use or 2.1

Thanks a bunch, btw I live in Delano MN when in the States, now in my winter shack back home

Quite honestly, I just don't feel able from those pictures to make a recommendation. I see no obvious place to put anything. That is a room you would have to see, or have an architect's drawing with furniture placement.

Anyhow I have homes in Benedict and Eagan Minnesota. I'm in Eagan at the moment for the Thanksgiving holiday. When you are back in Delano, I could take 12 out of the cities, and then afterwards go up to Monticello and join I94.

Where is home for you for the winter? I take it you are not in Delano now.

I hate to say it, but this is a situation for a sound bar. The acoustics make it miserable for pursuing a serious sound system in that situation. I would just get a 3.1 sound bar setup.
