Need Help Connecting New Speakers

I feel stupid asking this question...but I just received a pair of bookshelf speakers (Usher S-520's). I connected my speaker wire to banana plugs and plugged them into the speakers in the main +/- ports, but there are two other inputus on the speakers above the two I already used...it seems the top set of inputs are dedicated to the tweeter and the bottom set to the main driver.

Do I need some sort of jumper? I purchased these used so nothing came with it other than the speakers. These will connect directly to the receiver. I do not have an additional amplifier or sub.

What are my options here?

Your speakers are bi-wireable, you need a jumper or put a small piece of speaker wire connecting each terminal together

You're right in that the two sets of binding posts can be used to independently power the two cones. If you want to just run one set of speaker wires to those speakers and just use one set of binding posts, then you just need to electrically connect the two pairs of binding posts. The speakers probably did have a set of metal jumpers when they were new, but it seems that you didn't get those when you bought them. The original metal jumpers are nice, but you certainly don't need them. You can simply connect the two sets of posts together using some short lengths of speaker wire.

So, for each speaker:
1. Connect the two red posts together using speaker wire, and connect the two black posts together using speaker wire.
2. Connect the speaker to the receiver that way that you would normally connect a speaker. You can use either of the red posts on the speaker to connect to the red post on the receiver, and connect either of the black posts on the speaker to the black post on the receiver.

EDIT: Rÿche 1 got you hooked up while I was typing.
