Hello all, hope you can help me. I'm not very tech savvy so I'll try to provide as much detail as possible.
I just bought a Denon AVR-1609 receiver. I have it hooked up to a 5.1 setup. The subwoofer I'm trying to hook up is a Cerwin-Vega LW12, which I've had for awhile. For some reason I'm not getting anything from the sub when everything else seems to be running fine. I went through the receiver options and set it to recognize that there is a sub connected. The front, rear, and center all are fine from what I can tell.
There is one jack for the subwoofer output on the receiver, and 2 jacks (red/white) for the input on the subwoofer. When I connect the cables and tinker with them, the sub will sometimes buzz, so I know it's getting power and there is some sort of connection between the two. I'm just not sure what is missing for me to get the subwoofer to kick in with everything.
For all I know maybe the subwoofer can't connect with this particular receiver or something. Like I said I'm not too good when it comes to all the technical stuff. If I can clarify anything or you're curious to hear more about how everything's connected, please just ask.
