hello everyone , im new to the forum and new to the audio world.

i just recently moved to a new house
and i need some guide about the speakers
since the speaker company has 40% off, i guess i will order from them.
also this is a budget build, since a new house and everything else to get it ready cost so much... sigh
so please correct me if im building something totally stupid. thank you .

Front L/R: TST3
Center: TC2
Surround: TSS-B x4
sub: T100

thank you for any advice

PS: for rear and side speakers, shall i choose from satellite or surround speakers?
PSS: are the TST3s and 2s sound the same?i mean human nonexpets' ears.
PSSS: for this budget build, will i get to enjoy this DTS-HD true hd, DTS master source? which av receiver shall i get.

How big is the room. If you want a budget system TSC is not a bad way to go, my advice is to find as many reviews and opinions as possible and look at other speaker companies as well, to get a feel for whats out there. HT is not a perfect science it's more of an art. I can recommend all kinds of speakers but at the end of the day the only opinion that matters is yours, Welcome to the forum and good luck on the hunt.

That's a good build. If you have any extra money I would suggest getting a better sub, that's a critical link for HT. If you want to stick with TSC, this would be a good upgrade. If you don't mind ordering somewhere else, Parts-Express runs some great deals on their subwoofers every once in a while. Two of their SUB-100 or SUB-120's would be a great budget set up.

Regarding your PS's...
1. The way TSC has them classified, go with surrounds. The satellite's are just smaller and less capable surround speakers.
2. No, they're not the same, but from what I've heard they're both quite good! I'm sure you've read the Audioholics review of the TST2's, but if not, here it is. I would go for the TST2's most likely and save some money for a better sub.
3. Regarding the lossless formats, you will need a bluray player and a receiver capable of playing back said formats...fortunately, most budget players these days are capable of that, including some nice refurbished receivers for less than $300. For a budget receiver I'm a fan of Onkyo's from accessories4less.com, but there are many good options, just decide what features you'd like to have.

Have fun!

7.1 is waste on a budget. 5.1 is almost a waste actually because most sound come from the front speakers.

Centers are luxuries and few are designed well. I suggest a bookshelf be used for the center if you want one. To use a center you need to have a good distance in between your L-R channels(the greater distance the better).

IOTW start your setup with the best 2 speakers and sub you can possibly get. Set aside your feeling and start yourself on the right path to audio excellence.

Now what's your budget?

Now I agree with Isiberian if you have a budget you should spend it on the on the 2 mains and on the sub If you are not going to buy a new center if you are then the budget needs be adjusted I'll give an example

Budget 1 no center replacemet.
fronts 40%
Surrounds 15%
Sub 45%

Budget 2
Fronts 25%
Center 25%
Surround 15%
Sub 35%
this is just a guideline to give you ideal. as you can tell I spend more on the sub because I like bass.
