Building a home theater system and need some advise.
My room size is approx. 15 feet wide, 22 feet long with a 10 foot ceiling.
I don’t have any experience with this but I have spent a lot of time reading and viewing posts. I live in Costa Rica and don’t have HD and wont have in the near future.
This is what I have come up with and would like some advise on my choices.

Panasonic PT-AE900U Front Projector / screen size 102” – 120”
Yamaha HTR-5890 7.1 or RXV1500 7.1 Receiver
Yamaha DVC-6760 5 disc changer / All Zones
All units approx. $2200
Would like some recommendations on a 5.1 speaker system to go with the Yamaha Receiver. Would like to keep the speaker price under $500 if possible.

Thank you for your time and advise.

You're going to be very hard-pressed to do decent 5.1 for only $500 in that space. If that is a hard limit you're better off looking for stuff on ebay or going the HTIB route and start saving for future upgrades.

If you can bump that up to $900-1000 you can pick up an SBS-01 from SVS. Its a pretty respectable little unit.

Good review by Tom at Audioholics here:

Many others will chime in, but this is where I'd start.

Good luck!

Wilkinboy,
Thanks for the reply. I can go up to a higher amount if necessary. I dont want a substandard speaker system with the rest of my system. Lets Rock, how about spending $1500? Where should I start looking?
