Folks,
I have an issues with Sony DH520 pushing to a wall HDMI-to-2xCat6 converter. The other side is 2xCat6-to-HDMI to Sharp AQUOS 60" 1080p 120Hz LED-LCD HDTV LC-60LE820UN.
The strange thing is, Zinith TV (720) worked fine, Element (1080) took 5 sec to sync and worked, SHARP is not working at all.

Also, the sound from AV works for the first 2 seconds after power-on, then also stops.

Any suggestions?
P.S. The Sony get HDMI feed from Vz FIOS box and other gadgets.

Welcome to the wonderful world of HDMI.

What resolutions are you pushing to the Sharp? If possible set the output resolution on the Sony to 1080i or 720p and see if that will work.

I use baluns for feeding video through my house and garage but I stuck with component so I only had to use a single cat 5 wire and no handshake issues.

Two guys on the boards Highfigh and BMXTRIX are both CI's and can offer more advise. What model HDMI balun are you using?

I would agree with the top assement as being the most likely. If you jumped from a 720p/1080i capable display to a 1080p capable display, then you may run into issues. My old Pioneer was only 720p/1080i capable and it worked perfectly with my Mononprice dual CAT extenders using Cat-6 cabling.

My new Samsung is 1080p capable, but my PS3 wouldn't work even though it identified that resolution - the video just wouldn't go that far.

SOLUTION: I picked up the new Cat-HD extender from Monoprice. Single cat-6 run at 50' to a 50' HDMI cable so 100' total and it works perfectly with 1080p and 1080p 3D.

For only $190.50 each when QTY 50+ purchased - HDMI & Ethernet Extender Using Cat5e or CAT6 Cable - Extend Upto 328ft | Video Extenders

It's out of stock now, and it may be worth getting their other one when it comes in...
For only $171.45 each when QTY 50+ purchased - HDMI Extender Using Cat5e or CAT6 Cable - Extend Upto 328ft | Video Extenders

I think these are popular because they work extremely well and are a real bargain for the quality you get.
