Need Center Channel Recommendation

Hello, I have a pair of Miller & Kreisel speakers from the 70's that still sound sweet. My intention is to use them as my front L/R for a 5.1 surround setup that I already have an Onkyo 507 for. Could anybody recommend a good quality center channel that would match up with these that isn't too much over $100? Thank you for any help!!!

You may have some trouble finding a decent center that is around that price.

You just missed out on a deal that newegg was running, it was a Polk Audio CS2 for $102 shipped, which is a pretty decent speaker for that price, but I'm not sure what would match what you have. But to get something nice will likely cost a few hundred, and since the majority of what you hear from movies/tv comes from the center channel, I wouldn't skimp on it.

I would look for a used M&K center on ebay. That is your best bet to keep your front soundstage sounding correct.

I sent an email to M&K immediately after I was advised to do so but have yet to hear back. This is the only reason why I am now scrambling to find a center that would be suitable for my needs. I hope I am not overstepping my bounds here and apologize for any redundancy...

No problems, but next time you might to want to keep in same thread to keep consistency. I guess it'll be pretty hard to pick out timbre matched to existing speaker from different vendor, my 2c - in addition to email - I'd call them to get human answer quickly

Timbre matching will be tough if you end up buying a different brand, but for $100.00 your best bet may be looking on www.audiogon.com. That's where I found my current center channel, and it's the best place I found to get good deals on good equipment.

It might be easier if you tell us what model the M+K's are so people will have a better idea as to a matching center.
