Need Bookshelf speakers recs around $1500 for pair

Buuuuut, the Sierra 2 is double the price and I doubt that it is double the sound quality. The fact that Dennis is able to take an inferior tweeter and charge half the price and still compete with the Sierra 2 is quite amazing.

That was from only one person's impressions. And at the talent and resource level of Dave and Dennis, double the price will never get you double the performance, even within their own product lines.

Buuuuut, you're not just paying for a tweeter, you're also getting a solid bamboo cabinet, not just a veneer over MDF.

...and a custom SEAS mid-woofer.

I could not find a dealer who had the kefs but I did listen to bw cm1, cm5, pm1, focal 906. Sadly the best one i liked wasnt even on list.. PMC DB1 gold edition. It was very very good. Then I got to hear Cm9.yes i know they are floor speakers, i think im going that route now.
My budget just got shot.

who is this question being directed to? if it's me, they would obviously be going on stands and in tandem with a subwoofer. they may be called "bookshelf's" but putting them there is a crime against humanity and the person who does so, should be prosecuted to the full letter of the law. and this also applies to their spouse.

No. My comment about speaker location was directed to Sush15, the original poster. Being a newb, also, I've been asking questions about so-called bookshelf speakers that aren't really intended to go in bookshelves. There have to be some that were designed to be placed in actual bookshelves.
