My current system is 7.2 using deftech sts as fronts, pro center 1000 center, sm350 surrounds and some inexpensive pyles speakers in wall as heights. I have a Denon x3700h AVR and emotiva basx a5 amp which runs every thing but heights which the 3700h takes care of. I have a couple deftech bp8b in a different room. I am thinking of replacing sm350 with the bp8b as surround speakers.
Any thoughts on this setup?

You're saying here 7.2 and listed the speakers but not the subwoofers. Unless you're counting powered woofers in your front speakers. In which case those aren't really subs and don't make it a 7.2 system. True subs play much deeper than those powered bass sections.

So, adding the Dynamos would make it 7.2 and should give you better and deeper bass. As far as switching out the surround speakers go it should work fine but not likely to be much different. The subs will help a lot more.

*PS, how big is your room? Those Dynamos are on the small side. You'll likely notice some more bass but in a large room they might struggle.

Agreed. Treading lightly here, I would invest in subwoogage. The ML’s have listed low FR of 32hz anechoic. 8” 75 watts? I think the DT’s are probably more cable dynamically speaking. They probably dig almost as deep too. Imo, if movies are a priority, I’d address the subs. There a LOT being left on the table.

Not sure I would recommend swapping the BP8 for the SM. Bipolars are a whole other ball of wax, with specific placement requirements that are quite different, and less suited to the task, that your current rig. Keep enjoying them in your other system.

And I second the prior posters, proper subwoofage is the obvious place to start.

That center channel is a bit small compared to the super towers. Not sure how far you are sitting from the speakers though.
