Need advice on receiver

So I'm wrapping up my system for the living room/theater and need some help on choosing a receiver. I'm still learning and have no idea which option I should go for. Here are the speakers I got:

- 4 B&W CWM663's for my left and right front and rear surrounds.

- 2 B&W CCM663's for atoms (may get 2 more)

- 1 center channel B&W 600 Series HTM62 S2 (can't fit the B&W 600 Series HTM61 S2)

- Planning on getting 1 maybe 2 SVS subs, but still trying to figure out which one. Leaning toward the SVS 12" 500W Powered Subwoofer.

I will also be running a B&W CCM664SR for my bathroom of the system. I figured if I went with a 5.1.2 I can use the extra channel for that zone and save on an amp.

As for the receivers I was told to get a Marantz SR6011

http://us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=avreceivers&SubCatId=&ProductId=SR6011

but I can probably upgrade to a Marantz SR7011 or Yamaha RX-A3060 if it is worth it.

Thanks for any help as I am lost right now. Sorry if the links are a pain, but I thought they might help if anyone needed the specs.

P.S. If anyone can recommend a sub that would work for this setup that would be great. I like SVS, but I also have very limited knowledge on this subject. Also, would you recommend placing the center channel on top of my tv stand so that I could get the B&W 600 Series HTM61 S2 instead or keep the B&W 600 Series HTM62 S2 in the speaker shelf.

For your application, I don't see the need to upgrade from the 6011 to 7011. The 3060 will at least offer more power in theory, and better dac but then you may as well get the Denon AVR7200 for the better REQ system.

Thanks PENG. I'll stick with the 6011. I appreciate it.

Thanks again PENG. A bit off topic, but could you recommend a sub. I really like the looks of the SVS, but I'm not sure if the SVS 12" 500W Powered Subwoofer is a good match.

Not sure what you are trying to match in terms of the SB2000 (best to use specific model name, there's other 12" powered subs in their repertoire). Subs don't really match, but hard to give sub recommendations without a few other things, might start with this article http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/subwoofer-room-size

I was just hoping to pick a sub that is suited for the system I have set up. I didn't want to over power the rest of the speakers with a large sub.

I sort of fell into this when I did my remodel. I thought since I was gutting the walls now would be the best time to install speakers and it was a last minute decision. I know some of the questions I might ask don't make too much sense, but that's because I don't even know what question to ask.

I think dual SB2000s or PB2000s could be good for your system, depending; not so sure about the room/space you're using it in (because you don't say), which really determines how well the subs will work. Overpowering is something a lot of people needlessly worry about (and the power a sub with a built in amp comes with you're kind of stuck with :) ); if you integrate them well you won't notice how large they are....you may end up with more sub than you need but 2x12"s I just consider a good start :)

Thanks lovinthehd. Sorry about that the room is about 15 x 13. It's a small room that's why I thought the guy at best buy was trying to up sell me with some of the stuff he was saying. I would love to have a 7.2.4 set up, but I think for the room size that a 5.1.2 would be perfect.

If I can find the room to put a 2nd sub I'll get two, but I'll get one for now just to get the system up and running. I'm already thinking of buying the 2 in ceiling speakers for atmos so i think the funds would be best spent there first.

Thanks for the help bud. I'll look into to those.

Yeah, if that room can be sealed that's fairly small; one of those subs will probably do quite well (altho in my bedroom of similar size I use a 5.2 setup, ceiling too big a pain and no gear for ceiling stuff anyways). Multiple subs may help even the response throughout the room, though. Good luck!

I agree with lovinthehd about the SB or PB2000. In that room, two SB2000 would be great, or one PB2000. The SB is typically more suited to music listening and PB for general purposes, not a golden rule though, as either one can do good in both music and movies, depending on other factors. The SB2000 is much smaller in physical size.

Would two sb2000's be good for movies. I think i'll be using that system for TV and movies mostly and I like the looks and size of the sb2000. It would be a cool set up to wall mount my oslo 236 and place a sb2000 under the left and right side. Would that set up work or would in be a bad spot for 2 subs.

If your room is 15'X13'X8 or even X10', two SB2000 will definitely be good enough for movies. You can email SVS and they will mostly likely respond within a day or two.

Awesome. Thanks again for all the help. I only realized after I started how deep over my head I got with this project and with the help from you and others was I able to put together a great system. Now all that's left is to put it together. I'll try to remember to list some pics of the final product. Thanks again.
