Need advice on budget music loudspeakers

Here is my recomendation.
Onix X-LS or Refrence 0.5 speakers from av123 b-stock or classified sections:
$150-175
Sonic Impact T-amp OR
Recever from local thrift/pawn shop: $25-50.

I was browsing the forums and didn't find any topic that suited my request... So here are my requirements :

- Bookshelf speakers
- I can't spend more than $200
- I want correct sound
- I like deep bass

First, double your budget to $400, then give the NHT Classic 2 speakers a try. I like 'em. They go fairly deep for their size and price. Really, you should budget at least $400 for your monitors or you are really limiting your options too much.

You might want to give some Ascend Acoustics speakers a try (http://www.ascendacoustics.com.) I personally haven't listened to them but quite a few people think they're fantastic for the money. A pair of CBM-170s would put you at about $350+shipping.
