I'm looking at purchasing one of the following receivers:
Yamaha RXV-2500
Onkyo TX-NR801
Denon AVR-3805
I like the idea of the net tunes capability on the Onkyo but want to get the best receiver possible in this price range(>$1000.00). Could someone please advise, thanks Tom.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any of these choices. The Yammy will sound a little brighter then the other two so if you have bright speakers then you might want the warmer sound from one of the others. If it was for me I'd choose the Denon or Onkyo first and then Yammy since I like warmer sound. The new Yammys are not as bright as older ones but they still lean that direction.

Yup, I think Lincoln hit the nail on the head, with the addition of one thing; the Yamaha provides more DSP modes than the Denon-so if you like that sort of thing, that would be the way to go.

Bryan...got the 3805, myself...

Another 3805 owner..

Again I'll agree with the common theme. The 3805 is great...I compared the
sound to the Yamaha (and Pioneer Elite) and I preferred the warm Denon
sound. I've never heard the Onkyo so I can't comment there. The only
AVR I thought sound as good (mayber better) than the 3805 was the
HK 7300...but's it way out of your price range (and mine!).

I'd go with the 3805, or the yammie 2500. Either is good. I bought the Yamaha as my last one was a Denon 3802. No complaints about the Denon, just wanted to try something different.

What sounds good

I agree that all three are recievers you will be happy with though the Onkyo will not provide quit the rated power as compaired to the Denon and the Yamaha is not as good with speakers that tend to be a little bright or in a bright room, i.e: lots of hard surfaces like tile floors.
