First off, Hello and for anyone that takes time to respond and help thank you very much in advance.

Ok, My Wife and I are building a house we had the builder wire for us but not install any speakers. (this is done and drywall is up)

We asked for 2 ceiling speakers in the bedroom which is 18'3" x 14'8" evenly placed in the middle mainly just to play Rain/Thunder while we sleep.

We asked for 2 speakers in the Family room open to the entire second story so they are mounted in the wall to the upstairs game room this room is 15'11" x 16' Really just wanted this to turn on some music for a low key party or listen to talk or sports shows on the radio.

And we asked for 2 speakers out on the covered porch Unfortunately these were places right on the edge of where a fan blade will be turning as well. The porch is boxed in with the exception to the access to the outside.

Now each of these sets was wired to its own on/off switch as well as volume control. They all go to a receiver connection in the family room.

I'm looking for the best fit for ceiling speakers my budget is probably around 300-450 for everything but would love to come in lower.

I found these on amazon doing a little searching and they seem like they may fit all or some of my scenario/rooms.

Once again if you take the time to help me thank you very much. I also have a media room we built for 5.1 surround but i will open up a separate post for that in the correct section.

For speakers I would go with the 8" series from Monoprice:

HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!

Their 3-way in-walls are incredibly good sounding for not a lot of cash, and their 8" in-ceiling speakers are very good as well.

For an amp, I would go with this:

Sonance Sonamp 260 x 3 3 Zone Amplifier Best OFFER | eBay

It will run you $130.00 shipped, which leaves you some budget for the better speakers and Sonance is a world leader in this type of technology with incredibly reliable amps that sound good. I've used several dozen of their amps with almost no issues from them at all.

You will not need a speaker selector. Not sure how they wired it in with a switch to the rooms, but because of the amp having separate channels for each room, you will not need an additional switch.

About $380 (ish) for everything shipped to your door and you should be good to go.

I would still spend 20 bucks or so on some banana plugs for all the speakers connectors.

Thanks for the post.

I was told the switches were wired to control volume and turn the speakers on and off. Not 100% sure how they are wired.

One thing I worry about is the two speakers outside, while its in a covered patio I live in a very humid place. Do you still recommend those speakers for outside? (kind of leaning to the 3 way rectangular ones)

A amp pretty much is just the work horse from my understanding so it being of older design and such is ok. The receiver is where i want to get some of the newer bells and whistles right?

What are the perks for bannan plugs? I am a bit of a noob.

The amplifier is the work horse and newer ones or older ones - you want quality. Certainly Emotiva delivers on that, but they are more designed for home theater. The Sonance amplifiers are designed to truly be durable distributed home audio amplifiers for multi-zone setups like you have.

The A/V receiver is for a home theater, not for general music listening throughout your home and is extremely different. It is not needed with what you have described.

Humid areas work okay with most speakers. As long as they are not in direct sunlight and in direct rain flow, they should be fine outdoors for years to come. They are also very easy to replace once every 5-10 years as necessary with new models... which will be needed no matter what. I've used dedicated outdoor speakers and after a half dozen summers and winters in the Washington DC area, they gave up. So, I don't think any speaker should be considered as an outdoor 'last forever' model. But, my set did last me outdoors for over 6 years until I moved.

Banana plugs makes the connections into the back of an amplifier FAR easier and helps prevents shorts in the connection.

I like these a lot:
12 PCS Nakamichi Speaker banana plug connector 24k Gold plated - - 0534B
or these...
12 PCS Nakamichi Speaker banana plug connector 24k Gold plated - - 0534A

$13 shipped.
