Need a recommendation on a receiver please

Perhaps in the paper the different RCs are named, but on his blog they are called RC1...

When I A/B tested the 4311 to Pioneer, the sound was not really different between then two RCs for my setup. Overall, I found my sub to handle the low frequency RC better than the 4311. Others might find the need for the 4311 to tame their subs and find more benefit due to their room setup. I generally prefer the RC for movies, but I should try a newer release without so I can compare.

I wonder about that too but I am not going to ask him. I did follow the link he provided in one of the posts, read the whole thing and could not understand why he was able to draw the conclusions he did (or at least claimed what he claimed), unless as you said he read the "real" study, i.e. not the one he linked. I also have another thought of the "why" but I should keep that thought to myself.

Agree, I turned RC off my 4311, just a little fake sounding to my ears.

Well, that means at least you can hear the difference. Some people can't..
