New on the Forums; thanks for any help...

I just sold my rt800's and CS350 and bought a pair of RM8000t's to match my surrounds. I have 4 total surrounds (7.1) The prob is my center channel, its no where near as good as the CS350 that had 4 drivers. My current center is a RM 302 only as a temp.

My option is to get the RM7302 which is a little bigger but still only has two drivers...

My other option is to spend about the same for a Polk Audio Surroundbar Titanium 42"

I would like to use the surround bar as a single center if possible, I would need to bridge all 5 connectors together using a custom copper plate i guess to make this work because I want to make the speaker one channel or I could open it up and rewire the connections? I am placing this center under my 104" screen so I do have plenty of distance between my right and left channels. This Surround Bar also matches my set and in my head; im thinking it should sound awsome with 7 drivers and 3 tweeters for the same price as the RM7302 that only has one tweeter and 2 drivers, you got 60 percent of sound coming from the center channel

my question is...

soundbar 42" as my center or the RM7302

A center's job is to anchor the dialogue to the screen. A soundbar is the wrong tool for that job. It's designed to distribute sound, not "center" it. All those drivers on a soundbar (terminology note: tweeters are drivers, too) are necessary because of the complicated job that a soundbar has to do, not because more drivers = better sound.

Also, the center needs to match the L and R speakers in timbre, the more closely the better. The soundbar is likely to sound very different from your L and R mains.

This is definitely a case of trying to fit a square peg into a circular slot.

Yeah, that CS350 was a awsome center; I doubt that the RM7302 will sound any better but at least it matches my mains.

Thanks for all the help guys

If you bridge all the speakers in the sound bar what load will your receiver see? Aside from that, don't use the sound bar.
