Hey all, I'm looking for a subwoofer no higher than $500 (shipping included) that will give me good, clean, movie-quality power and is reliable for years. I've already checked out SVS, Hsu, and the likes, and would like to hear your opinions on customer service, sound quality, functionality, and reliability. Thanks!

Nice budget. SVS and HSU are great choices unless you go DIY. Check out product no. 300-762 at PE if you want a 12" driver in a smaller sealed enclosure. Onecall.com also sells some nice Bob Carver sealed subs with huge power for tight spaces. The last two won't go as deep as the SVS or HSU due to the smaller cabinets, but won't lag too far behind in sq, especially with music.

PB-10. The Mirage is good too when they have it in stock.

I've heard the Carver Dominator 12" sub on two occasions. While it is definitely much smaller than the PB-10, it didn't seem to give quite the same low end extension as the PB-10. It is a good sub though, and if you're looking for something small, this guy would do the trick.
