I have a basic setup of NAD T765 and 2 PAradigm speakers (Studio 100 series). Since i have an old fashioned DVD player, I had not connected it for a while, and didn't watch movies (not even audio portion) thru the receiver.
Recently I decided to send my dvd player's optical thru the NAD AVR. When I insterted a DVD, it automatically changed to a mode for movie (perhaps 5.1 channel) where I couldn't hear the spoken audio, just the music. So I changed the mode to "Stereo Download", and the next time I played a CD, it sounded like crap when it was driven a lil hard (at drum beats, and at slightly higher volumes).
I turned off the receiver for a few hours (trying to reset whatever changed), and tried a CD again - and it seemed to play like before, so far so good. The next movie I played did the same thing to the audio CD playback in "Stereo" mode. I can't seem to get it to reset now.
Does anyone know what is going on? I haen't set it up with Audissey since my home theatre is still getting worked on. But the 2 channel Stereo should still sound good, heck, that's why I bought NAD.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
