nad t753 av receiver problem

this is my first posting on a web site ever! my 2 year old t753 loses it's dislay after 5 to15 minutes of use.output and volume still works.but front panel buttons become non responsive.sometimes the unit can't be turned off by the front panel power on/off. once disconected from main power source and waiting for 15 minutes,the unit can be turned on and operates normally for another 15 minutes or so then the whole problem repeats itself! please help. ? a simple reset problem ?or worse

Jason, what can I say...you may have any overheating malfunction...some damaged resistence won't be to much expensive to repair. I'm far of expertise but it looks you'll need technical assistance.

Jason, I have the T773 receiver & I had a problem w/ mine about a year ago. It wasn't the same problem you are having now. The fix that solved my problem was a hard factory reset. You press & hold down the video & tone defeat buttons for 5 seconds. Then power off unit from the power button on back of unit. It worked for me. The only downside is you lose all your settings. I talked directly to Mike at NAD - 800-263-4641 / EXT. 4487. He really knows his stuff & can assist you further. I'm assuming here that the two receivers operate the same. NAD T753 Receiver Problems

I too am having major problems with my 2 year old NAD receiver. After the unit has been on for 5 minutes or so the sound drops out completely! When I first got the receiver, the volume popped a bit when turned up or down. This went away fairly quickly only to reappear almost two years later. This problem was accompanied by the total sound drop. The unit was sent to NAD to be repaired on August 4th 2006. I just got it back last week (January 3, 2007) a full 5 months later! And guess what, I still have the same problem. NAD says they had to replace the board. It took so long b/c the back stock of these boards was depleted so they had an OEM make one. This receiver sounds so good when it works. I am really, really disappointed in their product and their service. I cannot get my local NAD dealer to do anything, not even return my phone calls to check on the status of my case.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm afraid I will be looking for a new receiver soon

That's why most of us recommed Yamaha, Pioneer and Denon receivers. Now if your talking separates that's a different story. I was going the NAD route BUT had a change of heart due to quality issues like this.

let me tell you my story. I bough my T753 around 2005 used, i got it for $750.00 BRAND NEW LOOKING, NO SCRATCHES OR ANYTHING and it came with the HUMMING sound. i of course immediatly took it to where i bought it, they sent out for repair right away, mean while i asked them for a loaner, which they gave me one, the pioneer elite receiver. i was very exited to take this home, connect it and to listen to it, i was very curious, i mean, it was a pioneer elite, i said to myself, maybe i'll just keep this awesome big looking pioneer receiver. when i connected it, man WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! the NAD is way, way, way nicer, NAD has an awesome dynamic clear natural sound. i have previously had yamaha, punchi but irritating to the ears, exelent for movies but not music. i have had denon and it is still NOT THE SAME COMPARED TO NAD. anyway, i got my uit back, they had replaced the entire NAD motherboard, no more humming baby! i still got it and i love it, if it dies i will buy another one. you just got to see that the store where you are buying it from is going to take care of you, IF the unit you get comes with a difect. oviously make sure the unit has warranty for crying out loud.
i have taken my music that i love and played it on those beautiful looking "high end" home theater receivers they have at BEST BUY at more then triple the price, and let me tell you, everytime i walk out of there, i have a smile on my face. i am so glad i bought a NAD, it is 2011 and is still going strong with no problems. NAD IS WORTH IT, AND NOT EVERYONE HAS ONE.

I can see why some people prefers NAD for many reasons. I do not believe for a moment their receivers would sound way nicer than say a "big" Pioneer receiver. Big means like one of those mid range SC-37? People believe what they want to believe or they think their ears tell them that...... Facts are, like any main stay mid range AVRs, the amps are linear, i.e. flat freq response, good S/N, cross talk numbers, low enough THD+N, IMD that are proven inaudible, in pure direct mode with no sound processing they may not sound exactly the same to all ears but should, and will be close. Now if someone tells me NAD implements their SP, EQ better, okay I buy that because we all have different taste, like some prefers the tube sound while others do not. In that case though, what is better to A may be worse to B so sure go with your ears but don't tell others what sounds better, just tell people what sounds better to you, then no one can argue.

When i said BIG, i meant size wise. You are a hundred per cent correct. Some people like chocolate, some vanilla. It defenitely has to do with what people like. Not everybody drives the same car, right? I am not saying nad it the best receiver in the universe, but from all the equipment that i have experience with, been able to plug in at home with the same speakers, with the same cd/dvd player and from the stuff i have heard at my father's house, nad has an awesome dynamic, warm natural sound.
Like i said on the previous post, i had yamaha before, denon and played with a pioneer elite for a couple of weeks and yes, they are diferent, i am sorry, but they do not sound the same, period,
let me tell you something, when i got rid of my yamaha, and got the nad, i could tell the big difference when watching movies, with yamaha, i was used to that loud forward punchi sound during explosions and stuff like that, and i was kind of missing that, with nad i just had to get used to that difference, for movies nad does not have that loud forward sound, but it is defenitely more crystal clear and warmer. Im not saying nad is not loud either, i put that thing at 18, 17 db volume and my damm house is shaking, like i said, is just different. I am sure if i put an amplifier on this 70 watt nad the sound will also not be the same though. When i changed my stock radio on my land rover discovery and put an eclipse cd player, the damm difference is like night and day, if i put a alpine, it will sound different as well.
For example, the expensive nice looking receivers you find at best buy in the magnolia home theater room, they all sound different, and the nad also sound different. They are not bad, they just have a different sound. some sound similar, Some sound dull, some sound loud, too forward, some have a nice warm sound.
When i hooked up my NAD at home, even my wife told me, "oh yes, i can hear the difference", and she is the one that usually tells me why i am wasting money buying all that crap when everything is all the same.
