NAD T535 vs Marantz DV6001 vs Oppo DV981 ?

I'm looking for a DVD with upconversion to 1080p, to take advantage of a 46" Samsung LCD that I just ordered (LN46A630). The three players that most interest me are the NAD T535, the Marantz DV6001, and the Oppo DV981. It's really hard to find reviews of the NAD, but I'm a long-time fan, and currently have their C541i CD player. Music Direct sent me a catalog full of praise for the Marantz, although I wonder if that's more for its audio than its video quality. The Oppo has all kinds of coverage praising its video quality, and it's more economical.

The biggest "feature" to me is picture quality. How do these three players stack up in terms of picture quality?

Many thanks,

Dave

You already have a good CD player for sound quality. I don't own any of these, but from the reviews I've seen, I don't think the Marantz or NAD will give you any better video quality than the Oppo. Oppo customers are very happy overall with their purchases, so if you are looking for the most bang for your buck, I'd say, go with the Oppo.

The products are great, their service is great and so are their prices. Truthfully though, I doubt you'll notice any difference anyway in quality between the 3.
