Hello,
I have any opportunity to purchase a NAD C541 or a Cambridge Audio D500SE for about the same price. Which would you recommend? The player will be used for a 2 channel set up, mostly Jazz.
I appreciate hearing what you all think of these players. Is there anything I should consider other than these two players for entry level audiophile equipment?
Thanks
In my view, the difference between these two is that the NAD delivers more detail than the Cambridge, but the Cambridge somehow manages to keep it all together as one whole (The Big Picture) a bit better than the NAD.
In terms of build, I feel the NAD is more solidly made, but I must stress this is subjective. Could be the NAD is simply nearer to my views of how it should be done, which in no way denies alternative approaches.
Between the two, I'd go for the NAD.
Cheers,
