NAD 743 vs Denon AV receiver

Hi,

trying to figure out whether I should go with NAD 743 or Denon 2106/3806. Any input on sound characteristics? I have a mid-size room. Speaker options are DT Mythos Gem vs. Canton LE.

NAD makes really nice gear. I have the T773 & absolutely love it. NAD is known for their "music first" philosophy. How true!! I realy can't comment to much on the Denon except that it was my second choice after listening to NAD, YAMAHA, & DENON. I think you will be happy w/ either one. If priced the same I would go w/ NAD. Your money, your ears, have fun. Either way you'll have made a good choice.

Based on:
Specifications - The 3806 has more features and the 773 has more power and is 4 ohm capable.
Sound - I listened to the 3805 and the model below th 773 and did notice any difference in sound characteristics as such. Not sure about the lower model but the 773 should do a fine job with 4 ohm speakers. The Denon can do it but you have to exercise common sense.
Reviews: - What hi*fi, a British magazine rated the 3805 higher than the 773 overall but they rated them both excellent in terms of sound quality.
Price - Take the Denon, unless you can get a special deal with the 773 but I doubt it.
