Fargo has not flooded yet, but they are in high gear getting ready. I think the Red will start its rise next week. NOAA will have a further flood forecast Monday I expect.

If you don't work Sunday's I'm at Benedict, which is only 90 to 100 miles from Fargo. You are welcome to come out tomorrow. It is an easy journey, Fargo to Detroit Lakes, and then on to Park Rapids, then to Walker, we are 8 miles form Walker. The North County woods still have not lost their winter glow. It's a very easy journey and you are welcome to come.
My wife wants a vacation this summer. I've been thinking about visiting MN. Do you summer in Benedict? It would be a dream to see your setups.

Seriously, I have no life.

Of course we summer in Benedict. The Minnesota Lake season is officially from the Memorial weekend to the Labor Day weekend.

This is the whole point of having a Minnesota Lake home.

We would be happy to show the Minnesota lakes country one of the most beautiful regions of the US.

You can also see it from the water. The Benedict River out of Benedict Lake is an easily navigable river to Leech Lake, so we have about 400 miles of shore line at our disposal and places to visit by boat.

The only time that will not work for us is from the 8th through the 19th of July. One of my brothers is visiting at that time with his family from England. They just love this Lakes country. Also we have a big Minnesota Heart Hospital party on July 13 and 14 for the Heart Failure Transplant team, and I get to cook for around 50 people.

Other than that I'm happy to make "the resort" available to you and show you the best the Minnesota Lakes Country has to offer, as well as the Twin Cities as we have a place there also, although that does not have room to put you up. Walberswick House on Benedict Lake is a five bedroom home.

We really do have a summer Minnesota Lakes season, it's not a myth.

But this is Benedict Lake right now.

Yes, it's snowing, and the fishermen tell me there is well over 3 ft of ice on the area lakes. I have the lift and dock crew booked for May 6 to out the docks and lifts in. I'm starting wonder if the ice will be out.

Fishing opener is May 11.

Thank you for the invite, but I'll have to make a visit at a later date. I had to make a 10 hour drive after working all day in Fargo to park my truck near Midway and then catch a cab to O'Hare on a 0645 flight. Great drive though, the highway doesn't have many straightaways and the terrain is "hilly" enough to keep the drive from being boring. Saw tons of geese, hawks and deer, too. I did see the rare lone goose walking across a frozen pond, damn hunters.
