use the cabinet for a while then build my own, with a port. ive heard this is a pretty good spec for the price but the cabinet is kind of meh.
I can personally vouch for that kit as I used one in an install for my parents in a 4500+ ft^3 addition which is completely open to another room & it does quite well, even in a sealed configuration.

If needed, you can add some bracing ribs in the PE sealed cabinet for strength.

When/if you go vented, it gets a bit tricky as you MUST use a slot vent with that driver to keep vent velocities low enough to avoid compression. Unfortunately the enclosures get a bit on the large side in that situation as does the vent.
