My son won gold at the special olympics

A few of you may know that my youngest son is handicapped. He has come a long way from one pound eight ounces. For the past three years Lucas has competed in the Florida special olympics three player half-court basketball. A year ago his team made it all the way to the semi-finals. Today, his team won the state championship 18-14. In order to make the championship tournament the team had to win the Brevard county as well as the Orlano regional competitions. Luke is the point guard and never came out of the game. The team has six players and I'm very proud of all of them.

No, I'm not in any of the pictures. I believe that was a special olympics official posing with Luke after awarding of the gold medals. I'm sorry I'm not more handy as a photographer and didn't get better pictures. Thank you for all of your very kind comments. I just had to share with my Ht friends.

That is so cool......I work with a lot of Special Olympians and it's so gratifying at times.....just to see them smile so big and have fun. I'm so glad you were able to share this with him!!
