Look on the router's label- it will show the IP address and login- is it possible that you used xxx.xxx.1.x instead of xxx.xxx.0.x (or vise-versa)?
What kind of computer and which OS are you using? Find a way to enter command prompts and type 'ipconfig', then click enter (omit the ' at each end). Among other details, it will show the gateway IP address as 192.68.x.x and if the computer isn't connected, you'll see something like 169.x.x.x
