First off, i'm not real serious about home audio, I don't need anything real high end. I was using a Kenwood VR7080 and for fronts I have paradigm Monitor 3's v.3 and a Paradigm cc370v.3 for a center, and a Paradigm PW2200 for a sub.

I really don't wanna spend over 500, as that kenwood sounded great to me and it was less than that. I have recieved several recommendations on the Pioneer 1015, a yamaha 5890 and an Onkyo.

This reciever would be used for tv, dvds and Xbox 360.

the pioneer is a very popular reciever & you wouldn't be doing wrong in buyin that receiver. However, if you dont mind buying off of ebay, you can have a new yamaha RX-V757 for around $400 + shipping

But I wouldn't get a warranty would I? How reliable are Yamaha recievers?

Yamaha receivers are quite good quality, and sound very nice also. In fact, Denon, Marantz, and Yamaha are my standard recommendations when it comes to good sounding, good performing, quality A/V receivers.

you'd get the standard Yamaha warranty. If you want some sort of "extended" warranty, you'll have to buy from an actual store

Yamaha RX-V1500

If you look around you might be able to get a new RX-V1500 for $500. Otherwise check ubid for refurb deals.
