I also do a lot of business with Amazon, and have had good success so far. There was once (maybe twice) that I had to e-mail two or three times to get the result that I wanted, but it always worked out in the end. It's too bad that they don't have any more of them in stock. I'm sure that they'd send you one right away if they did. Sounds like they are trying to do the right thing. Perhaps they will arrive sooner than they expect. Once, I bought something from another store because Amazon had it listed as "ships in 1 to 2 months." The next day, Amazon had them in stock.
