In the future those LS-50's might be deserving of an amp with a cleaner signal and a little more power. Think NAD, Anthem, Outlaw, Emotiva. etc. Probably should treat them to classier support than cement blocks first though.

Actually, the 8020 probably is a little low on quality power, but the cinder block shelves and ls50's make it clear this man knows where to spend his money!

The Onkyo seems to feed them with enough power without running to hot. The SQ is quite good too (the Ibasso D7 probably help) ... and I kind of like my DIY AV stand so it will stay. I just received some insulation pads for Xmas so I might try them in my setup.

I love those LS-50's with the blue driver, very cool.

As to your DIY shelf/stand, if you like it and are the only household member who has to look at, stick with it. If I tried something like that with MY wife of 35 years, it would be tossed out with the equipment still on it.

Nice setup! I didn't know there were color choices for the drivers in the LS50. Mine's are orange but they do look good in my room.

Amazing, I got the orange drivers but piano black enclosure, not like the one shown in the picture. I do not you an get the enclosure in piano white. So can you order them in any combinations of driver and enclosure colours? I am thinking of buying another pair.

No, you can't get custom color combinations...yet. I think KEF would sell a LOT of them of you could choose one of the 3 driver colors (copper, black, blue) and one of the five enclosure colors (gloss white, piano/gloss black, matte/flat black, matte/flat gray, or racing red.) Lead time might be an issue though.

If I was buying I would choose blue driver in matte gray.

I still prefer copper, my next pair will likely be copper and white, to match my bookshelves.

And I would still be enamored by the blue driver in the "Titanium" (matte) Grey" enclosure. The white box is just too much for me. One can (or could) at one time get one of the floor standing speakers in the white with blue driver or black with copper driver. Timing was off and I missed it or may have opted for black/copper.

Though I wouldn't have a place for them, I think the Racing Red would look so cool with a blue driver.

Edit: LOL...you can still get them and I know why I didn't: It's the Reference at 5-digit bleeding.
