OP: is this producing the highest fidelity bass you have ever heard in a home? Is it's max output suitable for you?

And as another asked: what are you using to power this unit? It need well over 1000 Watts to operate ideally.

Just out of curiosity, that driver is rated at 600 watts RMS, and that box is very large, and ported, so how can it be safe to feed it at least a 1000+ watts? I have 2 of those subs in my car in the mfg. spec ported box and am running it off an elemental designs nine.1 amp, so it's seeing at least 1200 watts RMS when I'm running it hard, and it pounds like hell.

600 is thermal continual. Music is not in any way constant; the short time period of high energy momentary, allows for the speaker to cool, thus allowing far higher power input for music program. The Kappa Perfect drivers are rated around 400-450 continuous, and they easily handle over 1000 Watt amps for music program without any issues. However, you do need to use a high pass filter to prevent much energy under the tuning frequency from being presented to the driver. In this case, a 12db/octave filter set at 20Hz would be ideal to protect the sub above.

I'm using a Velodyne SPL Series 2 amp to power the sub. It's just a temporary power source. I'm looking into Behringer Europower EP2000 or EP2500 to power it. (eventually i will be making another one) It should be enough power. (i hope) :)
As for SQ, I think it sounds great. I haven't had a chance to compare it to other high quality subs. I will try to listen to some this weekend.
