My first impressions of the SVS PB-Ultra 13

I have been upgrading my living room HT over the last few months: Aerial Acoustics Model 9s and CC5 center, Parasound Halo A51, Denon 3808. The living room itself is not that large, but it is open to the dining room, kitchen and second story loft area. I presently have the PB12 Ultra/2 and am presently considering dual PC Ultra 13s (space contraints), dual F113s (wallet constraints), and the new and promised offerings from Epik.

I am happy with the impact of the Ultra/2, my question is trying to quantify the improvement I could expect in SQ from either of these subs.
Why not just add a second Plus/2 since they are on overstock clearance prices right now? Then you will have tons of headroom.

Blood, congrats on your new sub. Everytime I read a thread on one of these bad boys my mouse trigger finger gets all sweaty as I click on the SVS website. ;) But I need a smaller sub, something no bigger than by PB12-ISD. I'm looking to improve the tonal quality for music and try and optimize my system for music over movie sound tracks. Just a personal preference. I remember what an improvement my PB12-ISD was over my previous Mirage sub and if I can duplicate that improvement once again I'll be very happy.

They are better for music?
The plus series will have better overall sq than the nsd subs, and they are only 16" in diameter, so you can fit them in more places than you could a large box. Or if you have lots of cash, and don't mind a really tall cylinder sub, step up to the new PC-Ultra, that will give you the ultimate in sound quallity.

I don't have the space for a second Plus/2 or Ultra/2, which is why I'm looking at the smaller footprint of 2 PC Ultra 13s. I much prefer the looks of the PB, but 2 just won't fit.

I can't wait for The Incredibles to come out on HD/BD. It's strange though. I didn't find the bass in LotR to be that fantastic. Maybe I need to check to see if there are any nulls?
It will only be out on Blu-ray (Buena Vista worldwide media), but I agree it will be terrific to watch this one again with 24-bit uncompressed PCM. The Dolby track on the DVD is pretty impressive as it is, but on Blu this one will be tremendous.

Nice low bass in LOTR in FOTR when they are hiding under the tree trunk on the road to Rivendale when the Ringwraith comes riding by.

I don't think you would be disappointed or could go wrong with Dual Ultra 13's...

Dual Subs in my opinion are truly the way to go... :)
