Hi guys, was wondering what you guys have to say on pairing of Image T6 with,
Denon 1911, NAD 747 would be like?

While auditioning the B&W's & the PSB speakers, i did have listening fatigue.
I was wondering what the reason could be? Both were small rooms, one room was closed 4 sides, and other room closed 3 sides completely and the side speakers were facing was open.
Could it be the speakers? Room acoustics? or higher decibel levels alone?

I have begun to realize what marketing basically targets is the mass majority
B&W is a good example of successful mass marketing. It seems like B&W is two different speaker companies. Their very expensive 800 series speakers are very good. They are well designed and make no serious compromises. The few that I've heard were excellent, but I've never seriously considered buying them because of the price.

The 600 series seems like they are made by different company. In an effort to sell a speaker at much lower prices with the B&W name on it, they have made some unfortunate design compromises that I can hear. But that hasn't affected their sales. Mass marketing does work. And there clearly are people who own and like them. I've always wondered if the B&W 800 series was designed by the audio engineers that B&W is rightly famous for, and the 600 series was designed by the B&W marketing department.

Speaker designing is part science and part personal preference. That's why we all urge you to spend some time listening to different makes and models.

I'll be honest. I hear plenty of differences between speakers, but very little between amps or receivers. Find out how much power the Image T6 needs, and make sure you have that plus some extra. Don't worry about having too much watts, but do worry about paying too much for it.

I don't have a clue. Maybe you were done for the day and just didn't recognize it yet. Serious speaker shopping is tiring.

I took a quick look at those receivers. The two features that I value most are power and ability to function as a pre-amp if you add external amps at a later time because the receiver's built-in amp is inadequate.

Their power looks similar with a slight edge to the NAD.

The NAD has pre-amp output jacks and the Denon does not. If they are about the same price, the NAD looks better.

I'm not sure how they would do with a speaker like the Image T6. Probably OK, but not enough info to be certain. See the review here. Take Stereophile reviews with a grain of salt - they seem to have nothing bad to say about them. Their measurements are worth a look.

It is reasonably sensitive speaker at 89 dB, but it definitely is a 4 ohm speaker. That means more power might be useful.

It may be due to the volume - you may not be used to listening to higher volumes for longer periods.

You might bring a simple $60 digital SPL meter with you. Listen at home with the SPL meter and see what the usual volume is. Then when you audition, make sure you bring the same CDs and play them at the same volume.

I usually do not listen to more than 80dBA. When the volume goes up sometimes due to the dynamics, it still never goes above 90dBA.

But you will know more about listener fatigue as you audition to a variety of speakers.

I've listened to the B&W 800D, 802D, & 803D. And although I did not like them, I never thought they caused listener fatigue.

I've listened to the PSB Imagine T as well and did not think they caused fatigue either.

I tried listening to the T6 with the following two amps. Denon 1911, NAD 747. I was wondering what you guys would think of pairing the two with the T6. When I auditioned I had him switch back to the Denon in 15 mins. I felt the denon sounded much better. It responded well with small increases in volume, didnt feel that was the case with the NAD. And if I remember it right I liked the bass better with the denon.

Bare in mind that there's many, many variables that come into play that were not controlled in this audition. It's not so much a matter of "synergy" like you might imagine.

Anyways, since you're looking in the general ~$2000 price range I think you want to be looking at something like a pair of these:

These are much more than my budget. The PSB was jus a tad over too...but I can put off buying the surrounds & sub for later and get gud fronts for now.
Most of my auditions are without the liberty to compare side by side, and not much experience either.

I have B&W 683 towers & I can tell you that I have never gotten ear fatigue & that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get fatigue with ANY B&W speaker!! They are the best speaker ever made & for the money you just cant beat them!

PSB is an OK company but nothing in comparison. Paradigm...ehhh! Not my cup of tea & shouldnt be anybody's either.

Anyways! I hope you make a good choice...we'll see....:)

They measure extremely well.
I dont have that many choices. We dont have all available back here. B&W, Paradigm, PSB, Boston Acousitic, Energy, Polk, Klipshc, Monitor Audio, Tannoy, Mirage, Jamo, Dali, Audessey Audio, JBL... being available (But not all models, at times the newer models are not available).

Also Infinity Primus (I think they just added Infinity Primus 360)

I eliminated the B&W 683/684 off my list as they were like $400 over budget. Paradigm was just within. PSB T6 is $100 more (Guess a little bargaining can bring it a bit lower - he had instantly agreed to $50 lower when I spoke). I must say I did like the PSB.

I have to audition the paradigm monitors, which i had done for a very brief while. Also will check out some in Polk. Want to check out some floor standing models which have obvious defects in sound reproduction. Am trying to compile a list of lower priced ones available here. I read multiple posts here which highly advised to stay away from low priced floorstanding models, and to buy bookshelves instead. Auditioning a set of 'defective' floorstanding models will help me to make a better choice. :)

Audition the Infinity P363 (or previous model P362). I've seen these on line for ~ $370/pr. Don't let the lower price fool you. They may just surprise you.

The mackies would not be found in a hi fi shop. Try going to your local guitar shop and asking around. They are professional studio monitors.
