I am not saying you have to do it. I am not philosophically inclined one way or the other.

Like in audio, try it out. Heck Best Buy has a return policy. Get a drive and try it out. If you like what it does for you great, if not return it.

What I am saying is that your mileage may vary.
Okay, so let's say I can only have 2 2TB drives. How would you set that up? What partictions woud you have? Where would the paging file be? Like AccuDef asked, what kind of performance advantages are we talking about... seconds... 15 seconds... and during what functions. This has really got my curiosity peaked.

What does it take to link up? It's only a press of a button and a wait of a few seconds right? I can probalby live with that. I really like that keyboard.

The ONLY reason I liked the USB-type better is because I'm lazy and the bluetooth-type requires me to manually link to the PC, but the USB is a simple plug and play.

In addition, you have to buy one of those bluetooth adapters for your HTPC, which is another $15-$30.

A few months ago I was able to find and bought a silver color Logitech PS3 USB keyboard/touchpad for only $30 on amazon!!!

It looks almost exactly like the sleek black one, but it's silver/grey color and about half the price-- and it's USB.:D

If you can find that one, it would be nice.

So I have both a silver USB Logitech PS3 Keyboard/touchpad and a black bluetooth Logitech PS3 Keyboard/touchpad. I like them both a lot.

For the OS / Apps drive I wouldn't bother with a partition. For the 2nd 2 TB drive:

Create a FAT32 (yes you read that right) 13GB partition (assuming you have 4 GB RAM and allowing for format overhead). Use this for your paging file. FAT32 will be more efficient than NTFS. The rest of the drive can be NTFS.

The paging file is any where from 1.5 to 3 X your RAM.

You will notice the biggest system improvement when it comes to launching applications. It's not necessarily what you can count in seconds. It's a system responsiveness issue.

There are other registry settings like vcache that can be optimized also.

That makes sense. Why would you not want an OS/App partition on the first drive just to segregate that from the pure data? Is there a downside to it or is just no specific advantage to be had?

No real downside. I have always preferred to separate data vs apps. Even makes backup easier. On the long shot having a separate partition for data could make data recovery easier.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Let's say I set aside 250 gigs for Win7, Office, and other apps. If something happened, I think it'd be much easier to just fix what's on that partition. My neighbor's brother who claims to know quite a bit suggested it one step further and suggested to create a 100 gig partitiion for Win7, then a seperate 150-200 gig partition for the apps, leaving the third partition solely for data. I can see that but at some point it gets to be partition overkill I think.

The Initial bluetooth-pairing connection is the only thing you have to do.

After the keyboard is paired with the Mozart HTPC, you don't have to do anything. It will link automatically every time Windows starts thereafter within seconds.

So it's JUST the INITIAL setup, nothing else.:D

But, to use this sleek black keyboard, you have to also buy the bluetooth adapter ($15-$30) that will make the Mozart HTPC a bluetooth machine.:D

Here is my other keyboard:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000MFLBBK/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1262279274&sr=8-2&condition=new

Unfortunately, it's a little more expensive than the prettier sleek black one - the LIST RETAIL price is $40, but the selling price is $56!!!
