I recently picked up a top of the line Intel SSD. I use a spinner for the storage drive. Honestly it's really not that dramatic. Computers are already extremely fast. I know it certainly improved the computers overall performance dramatically. Now I just need to upgrade the ram.

That's only relevant for certain types of downloads.

Back to the thread: I have an OWC 128GB SSD in my 2010 Macbook Pro i7, which made a major improvement in speed. I also use a standard HD for storage (mainly iTunes and iPhoto media), but the improvement in boot speed and app speed, including those that read from the storage HD, was significant.
