my 200.00 work desk system..

Well here is some backing on my build. I have become more of a audiophile lately. I am planing a hertz/morel/audison stereo in my car. I started creeping more and more in home audio. I have a family business i am on third owner in. We sell parts to dept. of defense and it gets very boring. I work alone after hours and on weekends alot. Nobody in the building. I have about 50gig of songs, i love music. I had a logitech z4 system on my cpu i used to blast when working alone. So as it may be, the quest for more started. I started looking at the higher end cpu speakers. For 200 plus i know more could be had. To make a long story shorter, i pieced together something above what have would have been dream for my desk.

this is the list and it cost me about 200.00

pioneer receiver (forgot which model but its new/09
jamo e700 bookshelfs
pioneer downfire sub

Now backround with the e700 jamos. I went to a place i knew and they had a demo set for 140. I knew how much these went for new on the web before i went there so i am no fool. Well i walked out with them well under 100 with no tax. 5 hrs on them way overestimated.

well here its not much but for my office its insane.

Thanks for sharing, I am jealous of your ability to utilize that setup. I can't complain about where I work, but it would be nice to be able to crank some tunes, which I can't do

You are lucky to be able to listen to a stereo at work. I've got stereo speakers that came with the computer, but nobody dares to turn them on. Sometimes I can listen to headphones, but its not officially approved so the managers scowl and you have to turn them off. My cube faces a main isle to the coffee, bathrooms etc. so I would get busted all the time. Have fun.

i am making 8 inch wooden shelves tommorrow. I raised the speakers to ear level today and it was night and day difference. My ears were not in line with the speakers and it sounded so bad low on the desk

and i am picking up my jamo e8 sub.
