Just some dual opposed... I need at least another in the HT room. Wanted to see what the Kappas will do compared to the Reference. By all rights they will allow a bit more EQ on the bottom end where the Reference run out of Xmax.

I compared these two drivers in WinISD last night. They seem to model almost identically - except for the higher output from the 120.9, due to the higher power handling and higher Xmax. Would that be accurate? I just don't trust myself with WinISD...

About the one you modelled here:

Is bracing included in the volume calculations? That's pretty compact enclosure, considering the performance.

Friend of mine gets them for employee pricing. I get them cheaper and Infinity sells a bunch of drivers. I lost count how many dual opposed Reference builds are going on out there now.

Are you using both types of subs in dual opposed setups or just ported for the reference 120.9?

Dual opposed. The ported jobs are just too large. For under 20" on all sides the dual opposed simply rocks it.

Sweet. I plan on starting a build with the 1262's in the next few weeks. I was going to do single driver in a sealed enclosure about 15"x15"x15" for a 1.2cu ft internal volume. Externally amplified. Your dual opposed option sounds pretty sweet though. How do the dual opposed options work with near wall placement?

Seems to work just fine. A bit of bloom as expected but they keep together very nicely.

Thanks. Now I have to decide between two of the small 1.2cu ft boxes or one dual opposed box. What internal volume would you shoot for going dual opposed with external amplification?
