I'm looking for a stereo that can power my cerwin vega ls-12's. I had a Sony str-845, but it blew up on me, so I went to best buy and bought a yamaha rx-v571.the yamaha sucks. I'm not looking for a radio that can do everything. I just need one with power so I can play my records, CDs, and tapes. Just pretend that I don't have a tv.

Two thoughts: First one is if you don,t need fm, then how about an integrated amp? NAD, HK, Yamaha etc. Or the other thought is to merely add an external amp via the pre-out cnx of the receiver-assuming it has this feature. As always, used, demo, etc can save you some money.

BTW- I have a Yarland tube integrated and just love it!
