OK.....Her is my dilema.
I have justt purchased a Denon AVR-2808 as it was on sale for $599 which I think was a great deal. I currntly also have a 2807. M purpose for purchasing the new Denon was so i could have a seperate receiver to power my non entertainment room speakers (i.e deck, kitchen, living room) and have a seperate dedicated AV receiver for my entertainment center. I was originally looking for a far simpllier and cheaper ($300) reciever for the other zones , but when the Denon was on sale I thought it was no brainer to spend a few hundred more and replace the 2807 with the 2808, and use the 2807 to power the other zones. Now here where the problem arises, i now have two Denon models in the same room that are very silmiliar. I operate my system with a Harmony 890 remote using the wireless extender. The Harmony is now contolling bothe receivers simutaneously, i cant control each one individually. I have tried everything to correct it and it is drving me nuts!!!! Now i am frustrated and want to return the AVR-2808. I am looking for help or input on the following.
1. Is the 2808 a seel at $599,
2. Is the 2808 a significant enough upgrade over the 2807 to justify this?
3. Should i keep the 2807 , return the 2808 and buy $300 AM/FM multizone receiver as originally planned ( my main use for this is radio, XM, digital music from computer) . Any suggetions ?
4. Is the 2807 a waste of electronic technology (decoding ect) just to listen to music?
5. IF I keep the 2808 do I sacrifice the wirless IR capability of the Harmony remote and control the entertainment system by IR only?? i can run the 2807 wirelessly from the rest of my house.
I guess bottom line is having bothe the 2807 and 2808 ovekiill and is the 2808 worth the few hundred extra i could have spend on a AMFM receiver.
An comments /feedback or ideas on set up would be greatly appreciated.
